With nearly a decade of experience in the medical field, she is a Registered Nurse and holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Her RN license is also a compact nursing license, with the application completed.

Giselle's professional experience demonstrates a clear progression in responsibility and expertise, all of which are directly applicable to the nuances of insurance underwriting.

In her most recent leadership role as a Care Manager Team Lead, she went far beyond standard care management. She was responsible for delivering high-quality care to Medicare members, with a specific focus on closing care gaps. This experience is invaluable for underwriting, as it requires a deep understanding of a member's full health history and potential risks. She became an expert in managing grievance cases and performing quality audits, which gave her an intimate knowledge of the procedural and regulatory side of health insurance. Her role as a team lead and her work on various projects honed her skills in process improvement and data-driven analysis—core competencies for building efficient and accurate underwriting support. She even served as a Subject Matter Expert for areas like Transportation Grievance and Appeals, where she played a critical role in finding resolutions for members undergoing cancer treatment or dialysis, demonstrating her ability to handle complex, high-stakes cases.

Earlier in her career, she was an RN Health Coach/Case Manager where she developed and implemented individualized care plans for patients with chronic conditions. This hands-on experience provides her with a clinical perspective that is crucial for assessing risk and understanding the long-term health needs of a population. Her foundational nursing experience in the Emergency Room at Mercy Hospital further cemented her ability to triage and assess patient care quickly and accurately.

This unique combination of hands-on patient care and strategic operational leadership makes Giselle's expertise invaluable to our clients. She understands the data behind a policy and the human story behind every health claim, ensuring our underwriting support is not just accurate, but also comprehensive and empathetic.
